Sept&Oct2009 111

Mario, Luigi, and Super Why (PBS super hero)

It has been a really long time since I’ve posted.  Not much has gone on since my last post in August.  The boys and I are staying well, but about a week after my last post, Jon Mark came home with H1N1.  We shipped him off to Dallas to stay with his parents.  They took excellent care of him and none of us caught it.  We are still taking  all of the precautions we can to keep the boys healthy.  So far, the Lord is taking care of all of us.  Jon Mark can’t seem to stay well for very long periods of time though.  Pray he doesn’t have to quit driving the school bus.  That extra income is wonderful (especially around this time of year as we begin to buy Christmas gifts).

All in all, things are going well at the Smith household.  The picture above was taken last night at a Fall Festival where there were games to play and the opportunities to Trunk or Treat.  The boys had a great time getting out of the house for the first time in over a month.  We were even going to church this morning, but Kent had other ideas.  He has a terrible time cutting teeth, and he is currently working on his last two molars right now.  He has been in so much pain and has been clingy.  It usually takes him at least a month to cut a tooth, so we may be in for a long ride with these molars.

As I said, the boys are doing well.  Jay and Brady are doing well in school.  Brady loves Math and Science (just like I do), and Jay love Writing and History (just like his Daddy).  Kent….well… Kent just likes to make noise while we are working on school things.  He actually does really well for a 2 year old.  I usually put PBS or a Wiggle’s video on while I get the boys started with their work.  We are all still enjoying homeschooling.  Jay decided that he wants to continue next year.  Of course, his reason is that he has to be away for 7 whole hours when he’s at public school.  He really enjoys the flexibility of homeschooling, and they LOVE having pajama day as often as they want to.  It has worked out so well for us this year.  We are very grateful to be able to keep them home.

I suppose I will go for now.  I pray you all have a wonderful week.
